This error comes up when you haven’t added your site domain to the HTTP referrers (web sites) in your API key.

Here are the steps to do the same, check the step 4.

Hey Eric,

Can you check your console (CTRL + Shift + i) when using Gmaps? There should be an error

“You must enable Billing on the Google Cloud Project at https://console.cloud.google.com/project/_/billing/enable Learn more at https://developers.google.com/maps/gmp-get-started“.

Google has implemented pay as you go pricing for the GMaps product, which means you’ve to enable the billing on your account by adding your card.

Just follow the URL provided by Google and enable billing and you’re good to go.

And don’t forget to read our documentation on setting up Gmaps.

Hi i just enabled the billing on the Google Cloud Project. Waited for about 10 minutes. Deleted the the widget an activated it again but still the same problem..What can be wrong?

Eric,

There must be some error provided by Google Maps in the console. Just open the console by shortcut CTRL + Shift + i and attach the screenshot here.

An open street map is provided by another company which is Open Source and provides many unique features as compared to Gmaps. Here’s a detailed difference between them.

I think you haven’t read our documentation, I mentioned previously. You just need to enable one more API i.e, Places API.
